WHAT WE OFFER

We provide support and help for families (with children 0-19) to ensure that every child living in South Leeds has the opportunity to enjoy a happy, healthy and safe life through a range of services, groups and activities.

7 Day Response is a partnership programme between South Leeds Health for All, Early Years and Leeds PCT with South Leeds Health for All being the lead agency to manage the programme.   The 7 Day Response Team is based on 3 sites including Dewsbury Road (Beeston), Nesfield Family Resources Centre and Middleton Family Centre.

Our team includes:-

  • Breastfeeding Advisor
  • Community Development Workers
  • Family Support Workers/Family Action Managers
  • Nutritionist
  • Dads Worker
  • Home Safety Fitter

We have close links with Early Years Outreach Workers, Health Visitors & Social Workers in the area.   We work in partnership with the Early Intervention Team on the 7 Day Response Service which includes - Health Visitor, Clinical Psychologist, Counsellor, Social Worker and Speech & Language Therapists.

Building on from our experience of working with previous Surestart Beeston and Surestart Middleton programmes, we now work in partnership with 8 Children's Centres and other relevant agencies to provide a range of preventative services to families across South Leeds which includes support around issues with social isolation, child development and behaviour, educational and employment opportunities, emotional health, family relationships, special needs, domestic violence, parenting, support of dads, nutrition, healthy eating and more.   We work very closely with local Children's Centres and Schools to identify the needs of the local families.

Some examples of our service are .....

  • Parenting information and advice.
  • Access to training for parents/carers and support them with setting up new groups.
  • Offer support to existing groups to secure future funding.
  • Guidance and support on breastfeeding and healthy eating.
  • Creation of a wide range of play and learning opportunities for babies and pre school children.
  • Support for Refugees & Asylum Seekers on issues around signposting and parenting advice.
  • Specific support on parenting for dads.
  • Advice and support for families affected by domestic violence.
